FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK:

Dear Sisters in the Faith:

            Welcome to the Virginia Conference United Methodist Women’s Website.   We have 18 Districts with 20,971 United Methodist Women working to fulfill our PURPOSE.  We believe that God has called us to participate in His mission work to women, children and youth.

            For more than 140 years, we have been focused on Spiritual Growth to know God, to hear His call to us and to take risks to participate in His Mission.  Like the women in Jesus time on earth, we have joined the mission work.

     We hear the cries of His people and advocate for justice for women, children and youth.  We have been called a gift to the United Methodist Church.  We have supported programs around the world aimed at providing basic education, social services and evangelistic outreach.

            Giving is a way that United Methodist Women all over the world express their faith.  God has blessed the Conference United methodist Women this past year with the ability to make our Pledge of $760,000.  Our women gave a total of $1,060,534.14 to Pledge, supplemental giving and Virginia Conference projects in 2009.

          We are reaching out in every way to women who are looking for a place to live out their call from God.  Please look at the rest of the Website and see all the opportunities that the Virginia Conference United Methodist Women are providing for Spiritual Growth, Mission Work and Social Action. 

          Our supportive community welcomes all women from the church or beyond the church.  The United Methodist Women are living out Isaiah 6:8 as we have heard the call to participate in God’s Mission and we have answered; “Here we are Lord, send us.
